Brain Parts: Cerebrum (2)

The cerebrum is divided into left and right hemispheres and they are interconnected through “corpus callosum”- a prominent bundle consisting of about two hundred million fibers in the center of the brain connecting the cerebral hemispheres. Scientists found the differences existing between the left and right cerebral hemispheres. This structure has been thought as a cause of sexual dimorphism

The left side of the brain functions mainly are analytic - speech, logic, writing, and math. The right part is more concerned with imagination, art, symbols, and spatial relations. The left half of the brain controls the right side of the body, and vice versa. In general, for right-handed people (and many left-handed people as well), the left half of the brain is dominant.(for folks who have chosen the ”married” version of survival, the right part of the female’s brain will always dominate over male's  both left and right hemispheres regardless he's left-handed or right-handed J.)

Cerebral cortex, the cerebrum's outer layer is about 0.08 in thick and is composed of nerve cells (grey matter). It has a surface area about the half size of an average office desk (1,500 to 2,000 cm2). This is possible because of gray matter folds in on itself forming convolutions. In general the surface of this area determines how smart a creator is? So the size of brain is not the only criteria of intelligence .

The brain with the spinal cord and network of nerves controls information-related current fluxes throughout the body. This system regulates both voluntary actions such as walking, reading, and talking, and involuntary reactions such as breathing and digestion. The four principal sections of our brain are: the brain stem, the diencephalons, the cerebrum (two hemispheres), and the cerebellum.

Cerebrum

The cerebrum (the Latin word for "brain") is the biggest part of the brain; it constitutes about 90% of the brain's weight. There are several information-specialized areas in the cerebrum where specific impulses from different sensory organs are transmitted. Part of cerebrum is responsible for spoken and written languages, Motor areas control muscle movements including hand muscles for writing and eye muscles for physical movement necessary for reading. There is an area translating thoughts into speech, coordinating the muscles involved into the speaking process.
