Golf Phisics

Golf is a ball game using different types of equipment (clubs) to hit the ball into the hole by a stroke. Holes are located on different so-called “golf courses”. There are number of factors determining the drive distance of the ball; the force of stroke, the hit angle, the wind intensity and its direction relative to the applied stroke and the shape of club. However the golf ball itself, the structure, the size, weight and the type of ball surface also are very crucial for drive distance. The lift and drug are the main characteristics of the gulf ball’s aerodynamics. Also it is scientifically proved that the type of ball surface can dramatically affect on flight path of the ball through the backspin.  To get more on this issue visit: Golf Ball Physics

How we're getting old?

There are two prevailing theories of aging.  One says there is inborn genetic program which makes organisms grow old. The natural selection pushes older organisms down to deterioration. However, the same natural selection works by favoring genes involved into reproduction. It turns out that after reproduction ends, genes are beyond the natural selection. Many scientists argue that aging couldn't be genetically programmed.

Another theory states that aging is an inevitable consequence of accumulated toxins; NA-damaging, free-radical molecules, radiation, disease and stress bringing our body to the point that can't rebound. This theory has dominated aging research.

Recently researchers from Stanford University  discovered the alternative model of developmental drift. They found age-related shifts in levels of three transcription factors, that turn genes on and off. These shifts trigger genetic pathways that transform young into old. They found none of the stressors affected this mechanism. So aging is not the result of chemical damage of cells. In fact this is a new way to think about how to slow the aging process.

Peter Hillary

There are some kinds of people who are very dedicated and have achieved a fantastic accomplishments because of it. Peter Hillary, the son of legendary mountaineer Sir Edmund Hillary, is a dedicated person. His father was first climber to the top of mountain Everest, which has the highest mountain peak in the world. Peter was only 10 years old when started his first adventure as mountaineer with his father in 1990. Since than he had climbed almost all major mountain peaks worldwide including Everest and K2( the worlds second highest peak). Peter Hillary beside his adventurous activity wrote several books about traveling. He also is a guide and operator specializing in the Himalayas and Antarcticaas traveling. Microwave. How it works?

High frequency electromagnetic field generator is the hart of any microwave oven (a.k.a.  Microwave) . These waves cause to vibrate any electric charge careers inside the oven (food) bringing up the temperature. Since water molecules (in food) don’t have free electrons, the whole molecule is shaken effectively with altering electric field heating up the food placed inside microwave oven. For safety reason the generator is placed inside the metal box to prevent its effect on surrounding objects outside the Microwave.

If the object inside Microwave contains free electrons, as metals do, that will cause very high temperature due to strong electric currents induced in metal. Temperature can be high enough to melt down or burn out the metal object. It may cause damage to oven and electric circuit. For that reason you may not put any metal containing object in a Microwave.

Interestingly, the new approach in medicine to cure cancer is based on using radiofrequency electromagnetic waves  with combination of nanoparticles (metal particles about the size of small molecules). The idea is the following: The suspension of metal nanoparticles with attached antibodies to tumor cells is injected into bloodstream to target the cancer cells. These particles easily penetrate and bind cancer cells. Than the body of patient is placed into the radiofrequency electromagnetic field to heat the metal particles and destroy cancer cells. There are some laboratories that do experiments on animal models using this technique and they have come up with some positive results.
